Pollard Banknote has partnered Hoosier Lottery, Indiana’s official state lottery corporation, to introduce an instant ticket game.

The company, which also provides marketing services for the gaming industry, has designed and manufactured the tickets, branded as “Funky 5s”.

The tickets feature “a colourful, eye-catching design” and are larger than the average $2 version. There are multiple ways to win prizes on the Funky 5s and by having a “5” on the ticket, users win a prize. Players can then double their win by revealing a “55” or triple it by revealing a “555”.

“Funky 5s” also gives players the chance to quickly win $5 and $20 prizes on top of the Funky 5 top prize of $15,000. The marketing aim is to encourage players to keep coming back to the tickets because of the instant gratification.

“Our partnership with the Hoosier Lottery goes back many years and we are always eager for the opportunity to collaborate with the Lottery on interesting new ticket concepts and designs,” said Donna Preziotti, Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, Pollard Banknote.

“The design, size, and value offered by this ticket concept is sure to be a hit with players and will generate funds for the Lottery and the good causes it supports including the local police and firefighters’ pensions, the Teachers’ Retirement Fund, and the Lottery Surplus Fund.”

Hoosier Lottery was founded in 1989 and since then has raised over $6.3bn for local communities whilst also paying out $14.8bn in winnings to customers. The “Funky 5s” instant ticket game is the latest addition to its portfolio and product diversification is a part of the lottery’s strategy to increase those profits for positive causes.

“With the launch of our new ticket, Funky 5s, the Hoosier Lottery is able to offer a fun playing experience, with the potential to win money instantly,” said Sarah M Taylor, Executive Director, Hoosier Lottery. “We are always looking for new, exciting, and engaging games for players, and this colorful ticket, in a larger format than a traditional $2 game, is a great addition to our portfolio.”
