France’s National Lottery operator, La Française des Jeux (FDJ), is improving on its product portfolio by introducing the launch of “Top Chrono”, a new scratch-off game

FDJ claims this is the first scratch-off game to be based on escape room games, offering an immersive experience.

The card design features a large scratching surface, meant to seem like an escape room game. Two grids represent two rooms, from which the players must successfully leave. It also incorporates strong markers from the world of the genre, such as a compass or a key.

Top Chrono allows players to win up to €30,000 for a stake of €3. The game from the illiko range has a 1 in 3.19 chance of winning, which FDJ say is “the best winning frequency of games at €3.”

The scratchcard release follows FDJ announcing its sales had returned to normal following the COVID-19 lockdowns and even improved thanks to the EURO 2020 football tournament.

As a result, the operator is investing in new products to further improve its sales in FY2022.

An FDJ statement on the launch read: “This ticket, which uses a new theme that has been very popular for several years, is the traditional game of the summer. It will allow players to take a playful break in a summer context.”
