The Greek-listed lottery solutions provider Intralot has announced it has agreed to extend its current partnership with the country’s lottery monopoly operator OPAP SA by an additional 12 months.

Extending the supply deal currently in place, Intralot will continue to provide the lottery with a range of lottery products and services until July 31, 2024.

It marks the second time the two partners have agreed an extension to the current deal this year; back in January, Intralot and OPAP agreed an initial two-year extension expiring 31 July 2023.

However, citing the success of the “LotosX” lottery solution amongst other product implementations, it was announced that the deal will now expire in two-and-a-half years.

Updating its stakeholders, an Intralot statement read: “This extension allows Intralot to continue providing to OPAP SA its state-of-the-art lottery solution that incorporates its novel core platform “LotosX”, launched with great success in 2019, along with several other components and high-quality services.

“The lottery solution enables OPAP SA to keep optimizing the gaming experience and responsibly increase the engagement of the players in Greece and Cyprus. Our next-generation future-proof platform is designed to build scalable ecosystems that meet the growing market demand and fully supports the modernisation and digital transformation of OPAP SA.”

The announcement comes at a similar time to the publication of Intralot’s financial results for the first nine months of 2021, in which the firm announced an EBITDA increase of 82.5%.

Revealing its nine-month 2021 trading report, Intralot has registered group year-to-date revenues of €302.8m, up 24.4% on the previous year’s total of €243.4m.
