Paul Dingwitz and Sönke Martens appointed to ZEAL Network board

ZEAL Network SE, the German online lottery service provider, appointed Paul Dingwitz as Chief Technology Officer and Sönke Martens as Chief Operations Officer. Both joined its board of directors as well.

Dingwitz joined the board following five years working on technology operations, security and engineering at ZEAL. He has been attributed with implementing the successful IT operations following the combination and acquisition of Lotto 24 AG.

Lotto Reloaded: A natural continuation for BetGames’ flagship product

Aiste Garneviciene, COO at BetGames, reacted to the relaunch of its signature Lotto product.

Allwyn announces David Craven as new Chief Executive

David Craven was appointed as the new Chief Executive of Allwyn, the UK corporate identity of Sazka Group, as it sought to win the Fourth UK National Lottery licence competition.

Craven brought a wealth of experience to the role having achieved a ‘distinguished career working in the global gaming sector’, previously being a part of several major gaming software and gambling businesses, including The Tote and World Gaming.

Lottery minister John Whittingdale caught in Camelot conflict of interest controversy

UK Lottery Minister John Whittingdale was the subject of controversy this week following a report in The Times which revealed that his daughter, Alice, works for Pagefield, a PR agency that is currently contracted by National Lottery operator Camelot.

YouGov: Lottery remains most popular form of gambling despite technological advances

YouGov published its international gambling report for 2021, which examined the gambling behaviours of 13 of the most prevalent countries in the world, and it revealed that lotteries remain the most popular form of gambling in the world.

In the study, conducted alongside Prolific North, 42% of all respondents claimed they had played any form of lottery online within the last 12 months, outperforming sports betting (36%), online casinos (13%) and bingo (11%).
