A consortium made of two Serbian companies has been selected as a private partner to set up a state lottery in Kyrgyzstan in a project named “Lottery Activity in the Kyrgyz Republic”.

As reported by Tazabek News, the tender committee in November 2021 deemed a consortium made of Elbet d.o.o and Axel Capital fulfilled the qualification requirements to be on the ballot paper for the final choice of operators.

Subsequently, this week, during a meeting between the competition committee named ‘Lottery Activities in the Kyrgyz Republic’, all the applications were evaluated and deliberated.

Following this meeting, the Elbet and Axel Capital bid was selected and the competition committee declared the Serbian consortium as the winner of the tender.

Despite the victory for the consortium, the Centre for Public-Private Partnership must now negotiate and agree on a deal with the State Lottery Company and the proposed winners.

The PPP requires all parties to agree to a deal that maximises the return for the Kyrgyzstan State, given its remit to develop lottery activities in order to replenish the central Asian country’s coffers.
